USJ (Universal Studios Japan) will offer those with a Capcom ID the chance to gain early access to its Resident Evil attraction, Night of Heroes. You have until August 7, 2024 to put your name into the lottery if you’re interested.

As mentioned earlier, in order to participate in the lottery, you’ll need to have a Capcom ID. Those who are Resident Evil ambassadors will have double the chances of being chosen. As for the event itself, it’ll take place on September 4, 2024 at USJ in Osaka. More information on the exact time will appear later.

The USJ Resident Evil experience, Night of Heroes, will only take place at night. Based on the description, it’ll be an action ride that lets you feel like you’re walking around one of the exterior stages in the games. You’ll also be able to watch the various protagonists of the Resident Evil games fight off zombies and bioweapons like Lickers. The promotional art features a much smaller Chris Redfield (for RE1), Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, and Claire Redfield. Claire, Jill, and Leon all use their designs from the remake versions.

The Resident Evil attraction at USJ will be available from September 6 until November 4, 2024. However, those who get early access will be able to check it out on September 4, 2024.

The official Digimon Partners YouTube channel has posted a special “Butter-Fly” music video to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Digimon Adventure. As well, it announced that a music album featuring Yamato “Matt” Ishida and Teen-Age Wolves.

Toei Animation first announced production on this video in May 2024. You can watch the “Butter-Fly” Digimon Adventure 25th anniversary video here:

“Butter-Fly” is the opening song the original Japanese version of Digimon Adventure, with Koji Wada providing the vocals. Wada passed away in 2016 at the age of 42. The video features brand new animation that follows the show’s events, from the kids waking up in Digital World and meeting their partners to them saying their final farewells at the end of the show.

Many people in the comments have stated that they started to cry while watching the video. One person noted that the Chosen Children of this generation have all gathered in the comment section. As of the time of writing, the video has accumulated over 245,000 views within 10 hours.

There is no information as of the time of writing in regards to the Yamato and Teen-Age Wolves album. Teen-Age Wolves is the name of Yamato’s band in Digimon Adventure 02 but it’s unknown if the album will feature new songs with his voice actor Yuto Kazama as vocals. It could also be a Digimon Adventure 02 soundtrack but with a more gimmicky packaging.

The original 1999 release of Digimon Adventure is available on Hulu.

Shogakukan will release an app in North America called Novelous (the actual release version may have a different translated name) that uses AI to translate light novels from Japanese to English. This will, according to Shogakukan, allow it to ramp up production while cutting costs by half. [Thanks, Nikkei!]

Currently, it plans on featuring popular titles like the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End spinoff. However, it aims to increase its library to 400 works within two years. Like some ebook services, readers will be able to leave comments and impressions on works. As well, like how some manga artists may include a little picture of a speaking character either for clarity or comedic effect, the app will feature word balloons with character icons in them. In the Nikkei article, Shogakukan explained this is due to feedback from those who had trouble keeping track of and remembering Japanese names.

The app will utilize Mantra, which is the same AI translation system as what Bushiroad used for The Ancient Magus’ Bride back in December 2023. At the time, many readers and professional translators were against the usage of AI. JAT (Japan Association of Translators) is also against the usage of AI translation since it cannot translate “high-context, story-centric” writing. The example picture of the app shows several mistakes and errors in a single, short sentence. So normal sentences also prove difficult for the machine.

In the press release, Shogakukan states that it wants to have a million users by the end of the fiscal year in 2027. Its sales goals are also in the billions of yen in that same amount of time. As a note, scanlation or fan translation groups usually post their translations for free. It is also possible for someone to use services like Google Translate or DeepL to translate works without paying corporations a single cent.

Novelous, the Shogakukan AI-translated light novel reading service, will come out in North America some time in 2024. More information on it, such as its library at launch and its pricing, will appear later.

The official Twitter account for the upcoming The Rose of Versailles movie has shown off the first key visual for the film’s collaboration with Sanrio mascots. Goods of these Sanrio characters will appear some time in the future.

All of the Sanrio mascots look like they’re cosplaying the The Rose of Versailles characters. They even have the hair and extra sparkly eyes. The pair-ups are:

• Pochacco: Fersen

Another key visual shows the mascots looking like plush dolls, complete with motifs and symbols that often appear in the The Rose of Versailles series. As mentioned earlier, goods of these mascots will appear in the future. More details will come soon.

News of an anime movie adaptation of The Rose of Versailles came out in September 2022.  MAPPA of Yuri!!! On Ice and Jujutsu Kaisen fame is the studio handling it. The manga is a highly influential work, achieving great financial and social success since it started serialization in 1972. As for the story, it is a historical drama focusing on the years preceding and during the French Revolution. Aside from the upcoming anime movie, there have been multiple adaptations over the years. This includes anime series and multiple stage musicals.

The The Rose of Versailles anime movie will air in Japan in early Spring 2025.

idol Corp announced that it has been acquired by Brave group US. You can read the entire notice via its official Twitter (X) account.

The announcement starts with a history of idol Corp, as well as how it grew while maintaining its core values of transparency with the community and support of its idols. However, because of how many talents there now are in the agency, it is difficult to maintain the same level of support as before.

With Brave group US’s acquisition, idol Corp can continue its usual activities with even more resources than before. VTubers with idol Corp have the choice to stay or go indie. If they decide to go indie, they can retain the rights to their social media accounts, models, and characters. 

Near the end of the notice, idol tells fans that it and Brave group wish to resolve some issues regarding late shipments of goods, as well as open invoices. In Brave group’s announcement of the acquisition, it stated that former idol Corp CEO Aviel Basin has stepped down from his role. It does not seem like he is working at the company in any capacity.

Brave group started a partnership with idol Corp in December 2023. This is the likely reason why many commenters said they saw this coming. Other VTuber agencies part of Brave group include VSPO! and V4Mirai.

As of the time of writing, all of the idol Corp VTubers are still with the agency.

Imaginary Hunt March 7th in Honkai: Star Rail may seem difficult to build because of the myriad of things she can do, but with the right Light Cones and Relics, she can become a powerful member of your team. You can choose to either build her as a Break Effect character or a more typical Crit DMG-focused attacker.

When you’re choosing your team, Light Cones, and Relics, you should first decide what you want to use March 7th for. As of Version 2.4, there aren’t a lot of options for Break Effect despite her kit making her suitable for a Super Break attacker. Conversely, if you give her a more standard SPD, ATK, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG build that prioritizes her Basic Attack, she can work with almost any team and against any enemy.

Here are the best Light Cones for an Imaginary Hunt March 7th build in Honkai: Star Rail

• Baptism of Pure Thought
  This is Dr. Ratio’s signature Light Cone and it works well for a normal March 7th build. It works well if you’re going to run her with a party that can debuff enemies, like if Pela is present. This Light Cone can give March 7th a massive Crit DMG boost, as well as an additional DMG boost after she uses her Ultimate. She cannot use the follow-up attack boost though.
• In the Night
  This is Seele’s signature Light Cone. In the Night is a perfect Light Cone for March 7th because it focuses on her Crit Rate, Basic ATK DMG, and Ultimate Crit DMG. She can only gain additional DMG bonuses from her Basic ATK and Ultimate Crit DMG depending on her SPD. But you’ll want to give her a lot of SPD anyway, so she should e able to hit the maximum amount of bonus stacks.
• Cruising in the Stellar Sea
  Cruising in the Stellar Sea is an amazing option for F2P players since it’s a free 5-star you can get via Herta’s Store. It increases her Crit Rate, as well as her ATK after she defeats an enemy. It will also give her much better stats than some of the 4-star options available.
• Sailing Towards a Second Life
  This is the best (and pretty much the only) Light Cone if you want to build March 7th for a Break Effect team. It gives a massive 60% Break Effect increase even at S1 and allows her to ignore enemy DEF. You’ll want to get her Break Effect above 150% (which shouldn’t be hard) in order to further increase her SPD. The downside is that this is Boothill’s signature Light Cone, meaning that it’s limited and Boothill will likely want it more than her.
• Only Silence Remains
  Only Silence Remains is a simple but powerful Light Cone that increases March’s ATK and Crit Rate. However, the Crit Rate bonus is only available if there are less than two enemies on the field. As a 4-star, it won’t have the same stat boosts as the above 5-stars, but its more ready availability makes it easier to procure.
• Swordplay
  Swordplay is also a good 4-star Light Cone due to it stacking DMG every time March hits the same target. However, you cannot change targets or she’ll lose this bonus. Because it increases her DMG rather than just her Basic ATK DMG, this is a better Light Cone for her than Subscribe for More!.

Here are the best Relics

• 4-pc Musketeer of Wild Wheat
  This is the best Relic Set for a normal Crit DMG-focused March 7th build in Honkai: Star Rail. It boosts her ATK, as well as her SPD and Basic ATK DMG. These are all the specific stats that March 7th wants in particular. Its ready availability ever since the start of service means that most players should have tons to choose from.
• 2-pc Musketeer of Wild Wheat, 2-pc Wastelander of Banditry Desert
  If you want to focus on a dual-build, you might want to consider mixing Musketeer with Wastelander, as Wastelander provides an additional Imaginary DMG boost.
• 4-pc Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
  This is the best Relic Set for a Break Effect-focused March 7th. Not only does it increase her Break Effect, but it has additional positive effects depending on her Break Effect. You should give her at least 250% Break Effect (in battle) so that she can ignore enemy DEF when she uses Super Break. The Super Break part is especially important since you want to run Break Effect March 7th with Harmony Trailblazer anyway.
• 4-pc Thief of Shooting Meteor
  This is yet another Relic Set for Break Effect March 7th. It increases her Break Effect, as well as regenerates Energy for her when she inflicts Weakness Break. Because she can reduce Toughness based on her Shifu’s Combat Type, she has an additional chance to Break the enemy, meaning that there’s a high chance she can get that second bonus. Like Musketeer, Thief was available since Version 1.0 so players should have an abundance of this set.
• Rutilant Arena
  This is the best Planar Ornament Set for a Crit DMG-based March 7th. You will need to have at least 70% Crit Rate in order to get the Basic ATK DMG increase. That’s kind of high, but the additional 20% DMG bonus is worth it.
• Talia: Kingdom of Banditry
  Talia is the best Planar Ornament Set for a Break Effect-based March 7th. Like Rutilant Arena, there’s a caveat to it. You need to have at least 145 SPD to get the extra 20% bonus. But unlike Rutilant Arena, it’ll probably be a lot easier and more painless to reach that threshold.

Kotobukiya will re-run the ARTFX figure of Kasumi Yoshizawa in her Phantom Thieves outfit in Persona 5 Royal. Pre-orders are open until September 24, 2024.

The figure costs 17,380 JPY ($128.20) and will ship out some time in February 2025. As a note, you’ll be able to buy the figure even after the pre-order period ends. However, there will no longer be a guarantee that you’ll be able to get it, since Kotobukiya will cut off orders after a certain amount. Incidentally, AmiAmi (which usually sells Kotobukiya items) has closed off its orders for this figure.

The scale figure of Kasumi Yoshizawa as she appears in Persona 5 Royal has a dynamic pose on a corridor with roses along the edges. She’s also holding a gymnastics ribbon in one hand and her mask in the other. The figure originally came out in November 2020 and at the time, it was available for 17,380 JPY. Her pose makes it look like she’s running, while looking off to the side, which is actually a direct parallel to the ARTFX Persona 5 Joker figure.

Persona 5 Royal is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. The ARTFX figure of Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 Royal is open for pre-order until September 24, 2024 and then it’ll come out in February 2025.

The Imaginary Hunt version of March 7th in Honkai: Star Rail is an interesting character in that she can do a lot of things for your teams and fit on different types. Here are some of the best teams to use her on.

March 7th (Imaginary Hunt) can enhance a character on the field with her Skill, as well as gain buffs for herself depending on their Path. While this sounds like she is only a support character, she can dish out pretty good damage on her own via her Enhanced Basic Attack or her Ultimate. Because of her ability to reduce the Toughness of an enemy who shares the same Weakness Type as her Shifu’s Combat Type, she also does very well on Break-oriented teams.

Something to keep in mind is that March is a character whose performance depends heavily on her team. If you want her as a solo attacker, then you need to build her for Break and run her with Trailblazer (Harmony). Otherwise, you’ll see middling results. On the other hand, if you want to run her with a Crit build, then you need to have someone else with her. She cannot be the main attacker for a hyper-carry team due to her naturally weaker stats and unique kit. So you need to plan ahead with March in particular when setting up her team or build.

Here are the best teams for Imaginary Hunt March 7th in Honkai: Star Rail

• March 7th (Hunt) | Trailblazer (Harmony) | Ruan Mei | Gallagher
  This is a premium team that focuses on Break Effect March. In this team composition, Trailblazer (Harmony) and Ruan Mei are her supports. You seriously need to bring Trailblazer with Break Effect March or else she won't do much damage. Meanwhile, Gallagher is the sustain. A major downside to this team is that, unlike Boothill or Firefly, no one can plant a Weakness in the enemy. So you can only use this team when the enemy is weak to Imaginary, Fire, or Ice.
• March 7th (Hunt) | Trailblazer (Harmony) | Pela/Asta | Gallagher
  This is a very similar team to the above but it does not require the premium option of Ruan Mei. You can use Pela instead to lower the enemies' DEF with her Ultimate, or you can use Asta for an ATK and SPD boost. This team suffers the exact same issue as the above in that if the enemy doesn't have a corresponding Weakness, you're going to have a hard time.
• March 7th | Yunli | Robin | Huohuo
  This is a premium dual-DPS team that takes advantage of Yunli’s potential to attack multiple times off-turn in order to build stacks for March 7th’s Enhanced Basic Attack. Robin is the support, but you can replace her with another Harmony or even Nihility support depending on who you have. Finally, Huohuo is a great sustain due to her auto-cleanse and her Ultimate, which can restore Energy. However, if you don’t have her, you can consider Lynx as well, as Lynx can help gather the aggro on Yunli.
• March 7th | Xueyi | Pela/Asta | Sustain
  This is a F2P-friendly follow-up attack team in which March 7th and Xueyi help each other via their different Toughness Reduction passives. March 7th can help Xueyi to trigger her follow up attack, which in turn helps March 7th get her stacks. Like with the above Break Effect team, either Pela or Asta can work in this composition depending on who you have or want to use. Finally, you can basically use any sustain you want in this team.
• March 7th | Jade | Robin | Aventurine
  This is a premium follow-up attack team that would have March 7th use her Skill on either Topaz or Jade. Meanwhile, if you're using Jade, you can have Jade make March her Debt Collector. This in turn lets the both of them farm stacks off each other while Jade boosts March's ATK. Robin is the best support for follow-up attack teams, though Ruan Mei is also an option. Finally, Aventurine is the best sustain when it comes to this particular niche.

With two otome visual novels to read through and a veritable army of potential boyfriends to romance, Hakuoki: Chronicles of Wind and Blossom feels like it’s worth every penny. Despite its age, Otomate's consistent art style (for better or for worse) and the relatively sharp visuals keep this historical tale modern.

When I was a kid, I knew about Hakuoki in passing. My friend played it and came to school crying about Okita. Another friend watched the show and came out of it talking about how Okita is pretty great. So all I knew about Hakuouki prior to playing this on the Switch was that apparently, Okita is popular (hardly a surprise). So you can imagine my surprise when I learned that not only is Hijikata the actual canon love interest, but the story features vampires?! It was a huge shock to me, and I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. I’d spent sixteen years of my life thinking Hakuoki is a normal piece of historical fiction, only for it to be a historical fantasy otome instead.

Hakuoki covers the tale of Chizuru Yukimura, who's looking for her father, who is a missing doctor. (As a note, you can change her name if you want, but I recommend just keeping it so voiced lines don’t cut off.) Chizuru is a normal girl, outside of the fact that she can heal abnormally fast. She visits Kyoto while disguising herself as a male. However, she ends up getting into trouble with the notorious Shinsengumi when she sees something she shouldn’t have: Shinsengumi warriors losing control at the sight of blood and going berserk. In order to make sure she doesn’t blab about this to people, they force her to live with them. In time, they accept her as one of their own.

If you’re familiar with even a little bit of 18th to 19th century Japan and its politics, then you’ll be able to recognize a lot of the story beats when it focuses on the social and political climate surrounding the Shinsengumi. At times, the sheer level of detail the game gives about the group's history can clash with the more fantastical elements. The priorities just felt unbalanced. It started getting better later, but in the earlier chapters of the first game it almost felt like they were two separate stories that became one during development even originally. Some of the characters are new additions added in the Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms releases. Not everyone meshed well together at first. It’s very obvious who’s new and who isn’t, because new characters just seem to randomly appear before disappearing for large stretches of the story. 

As a whole, the localization is good. But when there were errors, they were usually ones that really stuck out. Iba’s introduction scene, for example, made a deep impression on me for reasons other than Mamoru Miyano. I had to re-read lines so many times to make sure my eyes and brain were working alright, especially since playing the game was the first thing I did that morning. When explaining the Water of Life (the serum that turns people into Furies), the doctor notes that the Chinese call it “xindn.” There is no such word. Most likely, they meant “xiandan,” if we’re using the Mandarin pronunciation.

I know that there is a lot of text to go through. I can’t even count how many times I thought to myself that I don’t envy the localizers for the workload and large amount of historical terms. But it’s precisely because the rest of the game reads well that these slip-ups become a lot more jarring.

The prevalence of terms specific to Japanese history can be confusing if you're not paying attention or if you're unfamiliar with the subject. I found myself going through the glossary multiple times because I couldn't remember certain allegiances. The story goes through the Shinsengumi history quite quickly, so sometimes it can be hard to follow. It definitely feels like Otomate aimed it at Japanese people who already learned about all of this in school.

Something about Hakuoki that I liked was that the story and characters took center stage in this otome game, rather than the romance. It’s hard for me to self-insert myself in the protagonist a lot of times in these otome games. I couldn’t connect with Chizuru at all and because she's a self-insert, she wasn't always the most interesting character to observe from an outsider's perspective. Maybe at the time of the game's original release, she was a breath of fresh air. Despite her overly considerate personality and her attempts to help even in situations where she can't help at all, she does take a proactive stance in the story. However, you could say that about tons of other otome game protagonists too. When I translated Winter's Wish: Spirits of Edo, I had a positive opinion of Suzuno precisely because of this personality type.

Despite Chizuru becoming the blueprint, rather than the exception, I enjoyed the plot and the characters nonetheless. I genuinely wanted characters like Harada, Heisuke, and Iba to get a happy ending. For the sheer amount of boys there are, the writing does a good job of giving them plenty of characterization and development beyond their basic tropes or shticks. To be frank, I didn’t finish all the routes in the game yet, but I'm excited to go back in and see what other interesting stories I still have to discover.

For both positive and negative reasons, Hakuoki: Chronicles of Wind and Blossom is a classic otome. The quality of the story and the characters are really good, and I can understand why people loved it. But playing it in 2024 after so many other otome games (and from Otomate to boot), it’s hard for me to see what made Hakuoki the special juggernaut it was at the time. Is it good? Oh yeah, if you’re big into otome or historical fantasy games. It’s great that you get both the Edo and Kyoto arcs in one convenient package without having to pay for two games like in certain releases. This is a game that stands very well on its own. But those curious about the legendary reputation of Hakuoki may come out of it scratching their head.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary since Ito Junji’s Uzumaki manga ended serialization, ShoPro Mall will start selling merchandise based on its unsettling characters and worldview. All of the items are traditional Japanese cultural ones, and they’re available to purchase online.

There will be two waves of merchandise. The first one will feature Japanese cultural items that you would use or see during the summer. The second one will come out in the winter, and we’ll see more information on that later this year. Here is a list of items and their prices:

As mentioned earlier, all of the merchandise feature the grotesque art of Uzumaki. For example, the chopstick stands feature the Spiral and the half-eaten face of Azami. The fan does as well. As a note, the stand case can double as a mosquito coil holder. However, if you’re not living in Japan, you might not have a use for it so you can use is to display your vase or hold your stationery.

Uzumaki is a horror manga series that depicts the fictional city of Kurouzu. There is a curse over Kurouzu in which the people become paranoid over spirals and misfortune befalls them. It is among Ito’s most well-received works and there will also be an anime adaptation of it from September 28, 2024.

During the 40th anniversary event of Dragon Ball, you’ll be able to catch the first ever episode of the new anime series Dragon Ball Daima. The late Akira Toriyama was the one who worked on the story and character design of Dragon Ball Daima, which will be a brand new tale in the franchise.

The new show will start airing some time in October 2024. But if you go to the 40th anniversary Dragon Ball festival on October 6, 2024, you’ll be able to watch it before anyone else can. There will only be three premieres, with the cast (including Masako Nozawa who plays Goku and his kids), appearing to greet the audience during the first two.

Aside from showing off Dragon Ball Daima, the 40th anniversary event will also have announcements about new games. You’ll be able to play their demos, as well as purchase event-exclusive merchandise. Demos will include that of Sparking Zero and Super Divers. Though the event itself is free, the tickets are only available via lottery. You can try for a ticket via the official website.

The Dragon Ball 40th anniversary event will be on October 6, 2024. North America will also be able to check out the show in November 2024.

Oginoya, a kamameshi store in Japan, has announced a collaboration with HoYoVerse to celebrate the release of new Honkai: Star Rail characters Yunli and Jiaoqiu. They’ll only be available in certain stores and through online orders.

You’ll be able to start purchasing the Honkai: Star Rail kamameshi from August 9, 2024 and the collaboration will end on September 8, 2024. That’s likely when this patch will end and around when the next one will start. If you want to, you can also pre-order a bowl (which will come with special merchandise), from August 5, 2024. When you order a bowl, you can get a wall scroll of the character in question, as well as a random postcard. If you order both at once, you can get coasters of Jiaoqiu and Yunli.

There are two flavors to choose from. The Yunli kamameshi has large slices of kakuni pork in it, which is great for people who are really hungry or can eat a lot. As for the Jiaoqiu bowl, the poster doesn’t actually say what ingredients are inside. But it uses ingredients you might find in Chinese food therapy with a mala kick to it. Each bowl costs 2200 JPY ($14.65).

Good Smile Company has opened up pre-orders for a figma figure of Gendo Ikari from the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series. Now you can make this old man strike all sorts of poses instead of limiting yourself to the Gendo pose.

Pre-orders are open until September 25, 2024. Those in Japan can get him for 13,200 JPY and he’ll ship out some time in April 2025. As for those in North America, he costs $75.99 and will ship out some time in Q3 2025.

Like all figma, the Rebuild of Evangelion Gendo figure has ball joints for you to pose him however you want. He will also come with an additional face part if you don’t want to see him with the visor on his face. As well, he’ll come with multiple hand parts for a variety of poses. Some of the examples on Good Smile Company’s website show him on his knees and rubbing his head, as well as looking up to the sky.

Rebuild of Evangelion is a retelling of the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series in movie format. While the first two movies more or less depict the show, albeit with some new scenes and a new character, the third and fourth ones completely deviate from the series. Most of the merchandise coming out for Evangelion these days focus on Rebuild of Evangelion. For example, in 2024, a Misato (and Pen Pen) figure came out using her design from the first two films while Good Smile Company released plushes of the three heroines (which includes Rebuild original character Mari).

HoYoVerse has released its final trailer for Yunli prior to her playable debut in Honkai: Star Rail. In the trailer, “Serendipity,” you can see both Yunli’s strength and her childish personality, as well as check out some cameos from familiar Xianzhou faces.

It’s also available in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

The trailer starts with a peaceful scene of Yunli napping when she wakes up to see Jing Yuan enjoying a snack of Berrypheasant Skewers. He then makes her grab for it like a dog or a show monkey or something, before a Diting snatches it out from midair, forcing her to chase after it. Somehow, the Diting runs all the way to the Shackling Prison and Yunli fights off enemies that appear. She defeats the final one with a move that even Saber from Fate would be proud of before she finally gets her Berrypheasant Skewer. Or so it would seem...

In terms of gameplay, Yunli will be a 5-star Physical Destruction character. Her kit focuses on her Ultimate, as well as her ability to counter enemy attacks. Her similarities to fellow 5-star Physical Destruction character Clara aren’t limited to the fact they both walk around barefoot.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Version 2.4 of Honkai: Star Rail, which features Yunli in its first phase, comes out on July 30, 2024.

A To Heart remake will come out in 2025. So far, there’s no information outside of new cast members and a look at the logo. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

This information came out during the Aquaplus festival stream on July 30, 2024.  However, Aquaplus also teased a new project for the franchise back in May 2024. The new logo design is a lot simpler compared to the original one. For one thing, the big heart behind the name of the game is now gone. As well, the text no longer looks like it’s popping out at you.

As for the two new cast members, we know that Kana Ichinose will play Akari Kamigishi and Hina Youmiya will play Multi. Ichinose’s previous roles include Suletta in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, Fern in Frieren, and Hisui in Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon. As for Youmiya, you might have heard her as Yukito in Ayaka, Minami in Oshi no Ko, and Tomori in BanG Dream!.

To Heart is quite a classic dating sim, having come out in 1997 on Windows PC. Since then, there have been multiple adaptations and ports, as well as an anime adaptation. The gameplay is fairly simple. You decide throughout the day where you want to go and what you want to say to characters you encounter in each location. Depending on your affection levels, you’ll enter different routes and attain different endings.

The To Heart remake is in development and will come out in 2025. There is no information on platforms as of yet.
